Teaching Biography
Thomas is an experienced and passionate educator committed to fostering growth, curiosity, and resilience in students of all backgrounds. With a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Elementary Education and a concentration in Special Education from the University of Nevada, Reno, Thomas has built a well-rounded teaching career that blends academic instruction, mentorship, and experiential learning.

He began his formal teaching career with the Washoe County School District as a Special Education Teacher, serving students with diverse needs from 2016 to 2020. There, he developed and implemented individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborated with interdisciplinary teams, and used data-driven strategies to improve learning outcomes. Thomas’s dedication to inclusive education was matched by his ability to create supportive classroom environments that encouraged academic success and social-emotional growth.

Beyond the classroom, Thomas served as an Academic Specialist for student-athletes at the University of Nevada, providing one-on-one coaching and helping students manage rigorous academic and athletic schedules.

His commitment to experiential and outdoor education was further demonstrated through his work with Sierra Nevada Journeys, a nonprofit focused on science education and character development through nature-based programming. There, Thomas facilitated hands-on learning experiences for youth, helping them build leadership, collaboration, and environmental stewardship skills. This experience enriched his ability to connect academic content to real-world applications in meaningful, engaging ways.
Currently teaching fifth grade, Thomas continues to inspire students by integrating structured instruction with creativity, compassion, and a growth mindset. Thomas Green is dedicated to empowering learners, building community, and making education both accessible and impactful.
